We are extremely pleased to announce another signing for the forthcoming season.

Richie Williams has this to say, "I have the pleasure of welcoming back row forward, Rob Langley to the blood and sand. Rob joins us from Championship friends Ampthill RFC. Prior to this, Rob has played over 150 Championship games, representing Hartpury College, Plymouth Albion and Nottingham. He has also played Premiership Rugby for Exeter Chiefs and Gloucester. At 6ft 4 and 110 kg’s, Rob has the athletic ability and physicality to play across the back row and also second row. Rob lives and works in Cambridge and is excited about the move."

Rob comments, "After the unfortunate, premature end of the 2019/2020 due to COVID-19, I am very excited for the new season to start. Cambridge RFC have proven themselves to be a good, competitive club with lots of exciting players. I greatly look forward to donning the blood and sand jersey this season and bringing my experience from the Premiership and Championship to help the team reach its full potential."

The attraction of a player like Rob is his size and athletic ability. His profile will lend itself to how we want to evolve our attacking game, particularly in the wide channels. He has a proven track record in the Championship and has looked full of energy in pre-season. He works in the sports department at Cambridge University and lives locally.

See some of Rob's highlights below, and listen to Richie's interview with Steve Jackson discussing Rob and pre-season preparations.
