Welcome to the Under 12 Rubies

U12 girls' rugby is for girls aged 11 years old on 31st August at the start of the season i.e. in school year 7. Girls aged 10 years old in year 6 may also play up in this age group.

We very much welcome all new players with any level of experience. Training is on Sundays from 11:00 - 12:15 (except when we have a match). Please contact Under 12 Girls Coach, David Bettinson at rubies@crufc.co.uk for further information.

Rubies Girls' rugby at Cambridge is all about being part of a team, supporting each other on and off the pitch and above all having fun.
We are now in our seventh year of girls rugby which has seen the addition of four girls' age group teams to the mini and youth rugby setup, the forming of a new women's team, over recent seasons numerous players have been selected to represent Eastern Counties in their age groups with some also being selected for the Saracens U18 Centre of Excellence and gaining places to study at Hartpury College Rugby Academy.
Training focuses on development of skills, putting in place the foundations of fitness, awareness and decision making needed to play open adventurous rugby and never forgetting the five RFU 'core values' of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship.
Many of our players study PE at GCSE and A level where rugby is a good team sport to use as part of your assessment, and a lot of players also use Rugby as their Physical Activity for Duke of Edinburgh Awards.
