One of the key areas in which we wanted to recruit this season was in the front row. In past seasons, due to the physicality and relentlessness of National 1, we have sometimes struggled later on in the season.

We have specifically recruited durable players that we believe will add value to our set-piece and also contribute to our overall game. These new players will compliment both our current props, Henry Peck and Sam Copeland who were integral to our success in the second part of last season.

Sam Copeland- TH Sam gained his 1st cap last season away at Hull Ionians before a man of the match performance at home against Sale FC. He has come through the clubs M&J section and has quickly accelerated his development. His size and subtleness in attack makes him very difficult to defend against.

Henry Peck- Henry has been a mainstay in the 1st XV over the past 2 seasons. Technically, he has matured into a fine scrummager and has the rare ability of playing both loose and tight head prop. His durability is also another strength of his, which has allowed him to already make 56 appearances for the 1st XV.

Billy Walker- Billy joined us last year but due to COVID, hasn’t been able to make any appearances. An ex England U20 World Cup Winner, Billy joins us from Saracens and will help us considerably at scrum time. Despite his young age, Billy has gained valuable experience in both the Premiership and Championship. He has integrated really well into the club and has already become a popular member of the squad.

Harry Morley- Harry re-joins Cambridge after applying his trade in Jersey for 2 seasons in the Championship. LH Harry brings with him a high pedigree and proven ability as an attacking scrummager. He has a strong affinity with the club after a brief spell during the 2017-18 season where he helped the club avoid relegation.

Ziana Alexis- Another player who is making a return to the club after signing in the 2018-19 season. Ziana was signed by Jersey and has gone on to play a number of Championship games at TH prop. He is another destructive scrummager that is explosive in both attack and defence.
