This Saturday the Blood and Sand travel to Rosslyn Park.
Formed by the players of Rosslyn Park Cricket Club, who possibly originally played in the grounds of Rosslyn House - the London home of the Scottish Earls with the chapel made famous by Dan Brown and others - Rosslyn Park were originally from North London, but moved to West London when their ground was bought for housing. They used to play at the Old Deer Park, home of London Welsh, before moving across the road to their current ground, which they rent from the Roehampton club. Their location on the South Circular means they receive significant income from two giant screen advertising boards - seen by thousands of London commuters stuck in traffic each day.
If anyone at the club is feeling complacent after six wins, then they need only reach back in the collective memory to 12 January 2013. This was the club's nadir when a rampant Park scored 104 points to our lone try. Of course it is a very different side, Rob Conquest is the only survivor from that encounter.
Since our return we won our first game - in a season where Park were very out of sorts at the start of the season, narrowly lost the next - a dour game in the rain and lost last season by nine.
Better Omens come from the game here, where we won the encounter 24-20 after the first of our trademark last minute defences a man down.
Despite that loss, Rosslyn Park have been challenging for promotion, keeping pace with Richmond and Rams. Their loss at Plymouth Albion last week means they slip to third, seven points behind leaders Richmond. They will be looking to get their season back on track - while we look to extend our winning run.
