As part of his 150-mile walk for the Injured Players Foundation, RFU President Jeff Blackett and his wife Sally visited Homerton College, Cambridge University, Cantabrigian’s and Shelford before concluding the Cambridgeshire leg of his walk by visiting Volac Park (26/10).   

Met by Club Chair, Rob Dean he was introduced to Jo Hopkins (Viva Kitchen) who, along with Seb Barker (Cantab Catering) were instrumental in the providing the meals for our earlier Feed The Children campaign; Director of Rugby Richie Williams who talked about our Computers for Kids campaign, player pathway and the latest club initiatives and of course Rob Dean who discussed funding of the grass roots game, the restructuring of the leagues and showed them around our fantastic changing room facilities which were helped to be funded with an RFU grant.  

As he left the Club he thanked everyone involved, and suggested that he would be back in the very near future to sample one of our pre-match lunches.  After all, if they are good enough for Jeffrey Archer………
