It is with great pleasure that we are able to announce our partnership with coach development provider, Inspiring Coaching.

DoR Richie Williams commented “As a club we are passionate about developing our own coaches and see this partnership as an ideal opportunity to enhance our current coach development provision. We have a long-term vision at the club to be recognised as one of the leading sports clubs in the region and believe that our playing and coaching pathways are integral to our growth. I have been impressed by the content and bespoke nature of Inspiring Coaching and know that both Paul and Alex share the same philosophy around coaching as us at Cambridge RUFC.

We have selected 5 coaches from a cross section of age groups at the club, who we believe will benefit from this service. They have all demonstrated excellent commitment towards their coaching and will grow their respective teams as a result. Moving forwards, we are also confident that these 5 coaches will become excellent ambassadors and hopefully mentor other coaches at the club.

The coaches enrolled on this seasons scheme are; Stef Liebenberg, Crispin Tedbury, James Hall, Carrick Blake and Ben Penfold.

James Hall, the new CRUFC Rubies head coach commented "I'm excited to get the opportunity to carry on with my learning and development post my masters and to get the opportunity to work and learn with likeminded driven coaches. It’s a good initiative which can only be a positive thing for my own personal development as well as having a positive impact on the development of Cambridge RUFC."

Crispin Tedbury U12 coach added “This is a great initiative by the club to help develop coaching standards and really builds on the recent good work done by Ben and Richie to support coaches with their personal development.

For the M&Y section this is a really positive statement and shows that the club are really invested in not only developing great future players by providing the highest quality of coaching but also in supporting and encouraging the development of the many 'volunteers' who find their way into coaching.

From a personal perspective the opportunity being provided to get professional mentoring and support via the Inspiring Coaching network is fantastic and I'll look forward to being able to share this new knowledge with the kids on a Sunday morning.”

Inspiring Coaching is excited about their new partnership with Cambridge RUFC and the opportunity to add value to the inspirational work the club is already doing on and off the rugby field.

Inspiring Coaching Director Paul Westgate says: "We are delighted to be working with Cambridge RUFC and we are looking forward to helping and supporting their rugby coaches. We believe that Inspiring Coaching provides the perfect platform to help the 'Blood and Sand' coaches develop further their skills, knowledge and expertise, and to become the best coaches they can be."
