Our coaching and management team is now confirmed for this season. DoR Richie Williams has expressed his desire to align all the teams at the club and has been able to announce an experienced and exciting team of coaches. Williams spoke of the significance of the appointments ‘Firstly, I’d like to take this opportunity to highlight the importance that we have as a senior coaching group, to drive excellent standards on and off the field. We want to provide an environment in which our younger players strive to be a part of. It’s paramount that we continue to work closer with the whole club and invest our energy on player and coach development. There needs to be a clear pathway from our youngest players and coaches, to the senior end of the club. I am confident that the coaching and management teams that we now have in place, will augment our club vision.’
The 1st XV continues with Richie Williams as head coach and Dan Richmond working with the forwards and set piece. They will be supported by Heath Stevens, our new defence coach. Heath joins from Coventry RFC where he had an illustrious playing career representing London Welsh, Worcester Warriors and more recently Coventry. Williams is excited by the appointment. ‘I met with Heath before lockdown and was immediately impressed with his passion for defence. As a centre, Heath was the defensive leader and understands this part of the game really well. He is very current with his approach and is someone that I know will compliment and add massive value to what Dan and I delivered last season. He has huge potential as a coach and we hope to support him and his development.’
