Saturday 28th September
Players from CRUFC under 8 and under 9 teams had a fantastically fun morning of rugby at the 4th Lion’s Den Masterclass. Held by Cambridge University Rugby Club the event gives young players from the local rugby community a chance to meet with and be trained by members of the University rugby club and a select group of masters of the game including:
- Ollie Phillips, former England 7’s Captain and world 7’s players of the year
- James Horwill, former captain of Australia
- Charlie Amesbury, former England 7’s and CURUFC Captain
- Nick Koster former CURUFC Captain
Our players greatly enjoyed the fun atmosphere and expert training on offer. They made the most of this rare opportunity to learn from such experienced players using the latest training techniques to develop the skills and techniques in each area of the game. The event was attended by over one hundred and thirty under 8s and under 9s players from clubs throughout the region giving the entire event a fun rugby festival feel. Topped off with medals and hotdogs for all participants, fun post-training activities included face painting and giant inflatables. Thanks to the sponsor Prism Architectural for making the day possible and raising money for the Khandel Light Charity.
