Cambridge Under 15s made the long journey to North Walsham in their first game of 2020. After a month of training it was a chance to put some of the hard work into action, and the team started well, using the wind and keeping a well drilled North Walsham pack firmly camped in their own 22 for much of the first half. A well secured ruck was recycled quickly with the ball being passed quickly from Thomas Bickley at scrum half to William Dorasamy at fly half, who took advantage of the drifting defence to grubbered the ball through the defensive line to score near the touch line, the resulting kick was missed. Cambridge were up by 5. North Walsham came back at the Cambridge side and some poor defence in the centre allowed the North Walsham centre to score between the posts, the conversion was kicked which took the score to 7-5. The second half was a battle of attrition with Cambridge working very hard in defence against both the opposition and the wind to keep them out of the try area but no team manage to come out on top. The final score was 7-5 against a good North Walsham team with a strong pack.

Congratulations North Walsham good luck for the rest of the season.

Bernard Cripps made his first appearance for the club, welcome to our team and keep up the good work. Man of the match today for his strong work in the forwards went to Jake Barry.

Next week a closer trip to Ampthill.
