Always a competitive fixture, and after losing last season, Cambridge was determined to not let the result go against them this year. Cambridge produced some of the best rugby we have seen from them this season, working well as a squad. Bury showed the intent early on scoring a well worked try, however Cambridge kept their heads up and equalised with our flanker pouncing on a mistake to touch down. Bury were determined to work hard and kept testing our defence. Equally our forwards tested the opposition with some good straight running. All players worked well together especially in the pack with particular mentions to Einaras Grigas and Thomas Bickley who both stepped in to help the forwards. Man of the match today went to Tom Prior whose work with the pack really helped with the win.
Tries today from Jamie Chapman x2, Patrick Mangell, Franklin Scott and Tom Prior
Conversions Lewis Moat x2 Clarke MacFarlane 1
Final score 31-24
A great win against a very good side
Thank you Bury Rugby and good luck for the rest of the season.
