Girls and boys play a fully integrated game up to and including the Under 11 age group. However, once girls are 9 years old (school year 5) they can play and train with the Rubies girls rugby section in U10, U12, U14, U16 and U18 age groups. Training is on Sunday mornings (except when there are matches) and also on Wednesday evenings for the U14-U18 girls.
Training focusses on skills, decision making, teamwork and above all having fun, never forgetting the core 'Rugby Values' of Teamwork, Respect, Enjoyment, Discipline and Sportsmanship. Many of the players are working towards Duke of Edinburgh Awards where Rugby counts for the physical activity, and studying PE at GCSE and A level and are assessed on Rugby as their team sport.
We always welcome new players to the club of whatever level of experience and existing rugby knowledge.
